Georg Fritz

... hier war die makellose Spielweise zu bewundern, mit der Georg Fritz seine fast klappenlose Barockoboe meisterte.  Klaus Trapp, October 2015

Both oboe and recorder player, Georg Fritz was between 2007 and 2011 student of Dorothee Oberlinger at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg (Austria) where he received his bachelor's and master's degree, graduating with distinction. In the same period he started his studies of historical oboe.

After his initial training on the oboe with Julia Moretti, he followed his interest in the historical oboe and began to study the Baroque oboe with Carin van Heerden at the Bruckner-University of Linz in 2008. After graduating in 2011 he continued studying the historical oboe with Alfredo Bernardini at the early music department of the Conservatory of Amsterdam for three years, where he earned his bachelor's degree in 2014.

During the last years his activities as an oboe player on baroque, classical and romantic instruments led him to concerts all over Europe, Israel and Turkey. He has performed as a soloist, as well as a chamber musician in numberous orchestras and participated in various CD and Dvd recordings during the last years, amongst others for the labels cpo, Brilliant Classics, and Pan Classics.

In 2009 he was a finalist in the York Early Music International Young Artists Competition.
